Our commitment

Diversity, equity, and inclusion

Approved by the Full Faculty, March 2026

Boulder Waldorf Kindergarten is committed to working towards a more equitable society for all. As a school, we hold the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion in the highest regard. Together we are committed to learning, growing, and changing in response to the needs of the community and our fellow humans who are systemically underrepresented, marginalized, or mistreated. We unequivocally denounce any statements made by Rudolf Steiner that are in contradiction to these values.

By providing a healthy foundation from which to grow, we hope to prepare generations of children for the work of building a kinder, more compassionate world. We are an institution that is committed to supporting diversity in all its forms including race, culture, religion, national origin, socioeconomic situation, gender identity, sexual orientation, family composition, and individual ability. We work towards creating a more diverse and supportive environment for faculty, staff, and the broader community with inclusion at the forefront of our vision.

As full members of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN), we align with the WECAN Diversity Statement and values. In our efforts to build a healthy social life, we commit to ensuring that our school addresses diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in ways that are meaningful and impactful. As our school faces the challenges of the world, we are dedicated to doing the work of learning, introspection, and action needed to move forward into a future suitable for all.
